Creative Saskatchewan
Creative Saskatchewan is a government agency, leading and supporting creative entrepreneurs and businesses. It supports six creative industries: Book Publishing, Craft & Visual Art, Film & TV, Interactive Digital Media, Live Performing Arts, Music.
I worked as the Communications Coordinator, handling everything from the company’s website to any communication material.

I developed a broader brand identity for Creative Saskatchewan. As the agency decided against the logo route, I suggested a visual anchor would be needed to help promote themselves and to get recognised by clients.

The challenge was to rebrand the organization without creating a new logo. I took the existing colours from the brand and used them to create a new and dynamic brand element: the tessellation. It fits within any shape and can be modified to be an abstract backdrop for more important content.

Along with updating the branding, I also created a new website, showcasing the programs offered through Creative Saskatchewan and the success of our clients.

Creative Saskatchewan invests in creative entrepreneurs.

Creative Saskatchewan decided to update their sector banners to help inform their audience exactly what they invests in. However, as we could not use past grant recipients, I suggested a more nuanced approach. I carefully selected images that hid the face of each person featured. This was to illustrate that anyone could apply and get funding.

Creating a strong presence on social media was something I took control of very early on with Creative Saskatchewan. I have successfully implemented this, posting several times a week, highlighting the success of our clients and publicly announcing important program updates.
